Nyt on kulunut niin kauan siitä, kun viimeeksi kirjoitin, että täytyy oikein muistella mitä on tapahtunut. Kallein joululahjani oli Philips D8514 -stereoradionauhuri¹. Sen lähtöhinta oli 1295 mk. Iiro (kuten Mika Lampinenkin) sai joululahjaksi VIC-20 tietokoneen. Minä sain tarkkuusgrafiikan², jolle olen tehnyt ohjelmia jo n. 10 kpl.

Uutena vuotena meillä oli muutama raketti, jotka sitten juhlallisesti ammuttiin taivaan tuuliin.

Olen tehnyt taas uuden hydrokopterin. Kerran sain moottorin käymään niin hyvin, että se liikkui muutaman metrin, mutta siihen on sen ajot toistaiseksi jääneet.

Olemme olleet luistelemassa Palokan³ kentällä aina viikonvaihteessa mikäli ...

It has been so long since I last wrote, I'll need to look back at what has happened. My most expensive Christmas present was a Philips D8514 stereo radio recorder¹. The SRP of that was 1295 marks. Iiro (like Mika Lampinen) got a VIC-20 as a Christmas present. I got a Super Expander Cartridge², for which I have already made around 10 programs.

We had a few fireworks for the new year, which we then launched with all due ceremony.

I made a new airboat. Once I got the engine running so that I was able to drive the thing for a few meters, but that is about all I have done with it so far.

We have been ice skating on the ice ring at Palokka³ every weekend, as long as ...

Viime tiistaina olimme liikuntatunnilla laskettelemassa, ja samoin tänään. Keskiviikkona katsoimme musiikintunnilla videolta Blues Brothers -filmin. Se oli ihan älytön (siis hauska).

1. Minulla on tuo laite edelleen, ja se toimii vieläkin. Olen käyttänyt sitä radiona työpaikallani yli 20 vuotta.
2. "Tarkkuusgrafiikka" oli lisämoduli, jonka grafiikkatila oli vaatimattomat 160x160 pikseliä, mutta sentään parempi kuin normaali 22x23 merkkitila.
3. Asuimme Palokassa Jyväskylän pohjoispuolella.

... the weather has been good.

Last Tuesday we spent the PE class alpine skiing, same as today. On Wednesday during the music class we watched The Blues Brothers on VCR. It was quite crazy (as in funny).

1. I still have that device, and it still works. I've been using it as my workplace radio receiver for over 20 years.
2. The cartridge included higher resolution graphics (160x160 pixels), better than the default 22x23 character mode.
3. We lived in Palokka, some kilometers north from Jyväskylä.
