Tänään käytiin kaupungissa. Minä ostin Graupnerin 528-sivuisen luettelon. Se maksoi 33 mk. Siinä on lennokkeja, autoja, laivoja jne. Ennen kuin mentiin kaupunkiin, me pyöräilimme äidin kanssa Tikkakoskelle¹, ja veimme lapun, jossa luki, että minä otan vastaan minulle tarjotun lukiopaikan. Samalla me kävimme kirjastossakin.

Today we went to town. I bought a 528-page Graupner catalog. It cost 33 marks. It has model airplanes, cars, boats etc. Before we went to town, mother and I biked to Tikkakoski¹, and delivered a note stating I accept the high school invitation offered to me. While there we also visited the library.

Tiistai

Tänään oli hyvä ilma taas pitkästä aikaa. Minä lakkasin katalyytti- eli muovilakalla Rommelin rungon sisältä tänään. Lakka vaatii kovettuakseen yli +18°C lämpötilan, ja tänään oli ensimmäinen sellainen päivä ainakin viikkoon. Illalla vein sen pannuhuoneeseen kuivamaan.

Today the weather was finally good. I used catalytic plastic lacquer to cover the inside of the hull of Rommel today. The lacquer requires a temperature of over +18°C to harden, and today was the first day like that for at least a week. In the evening I took it to the boiler room to dry.

1. I went to Tikkakoski school for both middle school and high school. It was about 15 km away from our house.
