Minä jatkoin auton tekemistä, ja iltapäivällä aloitin Lockheed SR-71A "BLACKBIRD" - mach 3 tiedustelukoneen ohjaamon¹ rakentamisen. Siitä tulee 95cm korkea, ja 65cm leveä ja pitkä. En kerennyt vielä tehdä mittareita siihen. Illalla luin Atlantis-kirjaa², jossa selitettiin tarkasti Atlantiksen sijainti, koko, muoto ym. Kirjan mukaan Atlantis upposi suuren planetoidin törmättyä maahan. Luin myös MacLeanin kirjan Kaapattu torni³.

I continued my work on the car, and in the afternoon I started building a Lockheed SR-71A "BLACKBIRD" mach 3 reconnaissance aircraft cockpit¹. It will be 95cm high, and 65cm wide and long. I did not yet have time to make the instruments for it. In the evening I read a book about Atlantis², which had accurate descriptions of the location, size and shape of Atlantis. According to the book, Atlantis sank after a large planetoid hit Earth. I also read a book called Hostage Tower by MacLean.

Tein ohjaamoon keinohorisontin ja kaarto- ja kallistusmittarin, ja ajelin autolla. Äiti otti minusta kuvan¹. Piukun pitäisi tulla tänään leiriltä Koivuniemestä. Illalla ajeltiin Piukun kanssa autolla. Autosta katkesi etuakselin tuki, ja puskurin tuki katkesi. Illalla katsottiin Kupla.

I made artificial horizon and slip indicator instruments to the cockpit, and drove the car. Mum took a picture¹ of me. Piukku is supposed to come home from the camp at Koivuniemi today. In the evening Piukku and I drove the car around. The front axle holder broke, and also a bumber attachment broke. In the evening we watched Soap.

1. Rakentelin aikoinaan useitakin erilaisia lentokoneiden ohjaamoja, joita käytin ikään kuin lentosimulaattoreina tuohon aikaan ennen tietokonepelejä. Ohjaussauva ja kaasukahva oli yhdistetty naruilla ja pylpyröillä (tai sähköisesti) mittareihin, jotka sitten liikkuivat kun vääntelin ohjaimia.

1. I used to build several aircraft cockpits, which I used as flight simulators at that time before computer games. The flight stick and throttle were connected by strings and pulleys (or electrically) to instruments, which then moved as I moved the controls.
