Tänään löydettiin kellarista autorata, jolla ajeltiin miltei koko päivä. Siinä oli kaksi autoa, Ferrari ja Lotus. Anu halusi ajaa Ferrarilla, ja minä Lotuksella. Sain Nenneltä paristot Countachiin. Illalla katsottiin TV:stä "Kalaharin veriset hiekat" ja Magnum.

Saturday

Today we found a slot car track from the basement, and we played with that almost the whole day. It had two cars, a Ferrari and a Lotus. Anu wanted to drive the Ferrari, and I prefered the Lotus. Nenne gave me batteries for the Countach. In the evening we watched a film called "Sands of the Kalahari" and Magnum P.I. on the telly.

Tänä aamuna ajeltiin autoradalla vielä vähän aikaa, ja sitten lähdettiin ajamaan kotiin. Kun tultiin kotiin, huomattiin, että oli kauhean kylmä. Äiti vilkaisi ulos, ja jäi sitten pöllähtäneen näköisenä seisomaan, ja sanoi: "Oioioi, oioioi". Kun menimme katsomaan, näimme koko muurin¹ romahtaneen alas. Isä sai sitä hieman siivottua jo tänä iltana.

Sunday

This morning we drove the slot cars around for a while, and then started our road trip back to home. When we arrived home, we noticed it was quite cold. Mum looked outside, then began to look stricken, and started repeating: "ow ow ow, ow ow ow". When we went to see what was the matter, we saw the whole wall¹ had fallen down. Dad managed to clean it up a bit already this evening.

1. Talomme takapiha oli kaivettu osittain maan alle rinteeseen, ja ylärinteen puolella oli rakennettu isoista tiilistä muuri. Koko tämä muurattu seinä oli romahtanut takapihallemme. Muuri oli ilmeisesti huonosti rakennettu, se oli rakennettu jo ennen kuin ostimme talon.

1. Our back yard was dug into a slope, with a brick wall on the up slope keeping the earth in place. The whole wall had crashed onto our back yard. It seems not to have been made properly, it was made before we bought this house.
