Tänään oli äitienpäivä, ja me lauloimme äidille aamulla. Kävimme Joutsassa¹ syömässä, ja koeajoimme Talbotin² ensikerran pitkällä matkalla. Pia-Maria teki lautoja ja muita tilpehöörejä paattiinsa. Minä rakensin Väinämöistä vähän lisää taas. Huomenna on maanantai, ja pitäisi jaksaa pikkaisen harjoitella musiikin kokeeseen.

Sunday

It was Mother's Day today, and we sang to mother this morning. We drove to Joutsa¹ for lunch, and tested our Talbot² for the first time on a longer journey. Pia-Maria made boards and other stuff for her boat. I built Väinämöinen a bit further again. Tomorrow is Monday, and I should practice a bit for the music exam.

Maanantai

Tänään ei tapahtunut mitään erikoista. Koulu loppui jo kello 14:00, joten meillä oli yksi odotustunti¹. Minä ostin 2mk:lla karkkia, ja olin kirjastossa. Musiikin kokeissa piti soittaa nokkahuilua, ja minä sain "ainakin" 8. Lunta ei ole enää juuri ollenkaan.

Monday

Today nothing special happened. School ended at 2pm, so we had a one hour wait¹. I spent 2 marks on candy, and went to the library. In the music exam I had to play the fipple flute, and I got "at least" an 8. There's hardly any snow left.

1. Isäni työskenteli Rantasipi Oy:lle, ja kävimme Joutsan Rantasipi-hotellissa äitienpäivälounaalla.
2. Isän hiljattain käyttöönsä saama uusi työsuhdeauto oli Talbot 1510.

1. My father worked for Rantasipi Oy, and we went to the Rantasipi-hotel in Joutsa for Mother's Day lunch.
2. My father had recently got a new leasing car, a Talbot 1510.

1. Kuljimme linja-autolla kouluun, ja linja-auto tuli aamuisin yhdeksäksi ja lähti iltapäivällä kolmelta koululta.

1. The school bus brought children to school at 9am and left from school at 3pm.
