Perjantai

Tänään syötiin vasta puoli kymmeneltä. Sitten me ruvettiin Piukun kanssa tekemään sarjakuvia. Minä tein Atlantiksesta ja Piukku Mr. Sithaltasta¹. Me ajeltiin autolla, vaikka se oli vielä vähän märkä ja rämä. Käytiin koko perhe autiomökillä², ja haettiin kauheasti kukkia. Iltapäivällä ennen saunaa minä rakensin ohjaamoon sisävalaistuksen ja moottorinvalvontamittarit. Illalla luin Stanislaw Lemin kirjan Nuha³. Menin nukkumaan vasta yhdeltä.

June 5th, 1981
Friday

Today we had breakfast as late as nine thirty. After we Piukku and I began drawing cartoons. I drew about Atlantis and Piukku about Mr. Sithalta¹. We drove the car, even though it was still a bit wet and broken. The whole family went to the abandoned cottage², and brought back a lot of flowers. In the afternoon before sauna I built lighting and engine instruments to the cockpit. In the evening I read Stanislaw Lem's book The Chain of Chance³. I went to bed only at 1am.

Lauantai

Aamulla noustiin ylös samaan aikaan kuin eilenkin. Teimme Piukun kanssa sarjakuvia aamupäivällä. Iltapäivällä ajeltiin vähän autolla, ja sitten pakattiin tavarat¹. Lähdimme n. klo 17:30. Tultuamme Lahteen, etsimme Piukun laulukoulukaverit, ja sitten ajettiin lentohotelliin. Siellä syötiin äidin ja isän 17v. hääpäiväillallinen, 18 mk:n pikkupizzat ja Coca-Colaa². Meillä oli tuplahuoneet, joissa oli ovi välissä. Minä ja Piukku nukuttiin toisessa, ja vanhemmat toisessa huoneessa. Illalla käytiin suihkussakin (klo. 23:00) ennen nukkumaan menoa.

June 6th, 1981
Saturday

We woke up at around the same time as yesterday. During the morning Piukku and I continued drawing cartoons. In the afternoon we drove the car a bit, and then did some packing¹. We started the trip at around 5:30pm. After we arrived in Lahti, we looked up the children's choir friends of Piukku, and then went to the airport hotel. There we ate the mum and dad's 17-year wedding anniversary dinner, small pizzas which cost 18 marks, and Coca-Cola². We had double rooms with a door in between. Piukku and myself slept in one room, and the parents in another. In the evening we even took a shower (at around 11pm) before going to bed.

1. Pia-Marian laulukoululla oli esitys Lahdessa sunnuntaina, ja samalla reissulla menimme Helsinkiin isovanhempien luokse.
2. Saavuimme hotellille niin myöhään, että varsinainen keittiö oli jo kiinni. Jouduimme sitten syömään mitä baarissa sattui olemaan tarjolla.

1. Pia-Maria had a children's choir performance in Lahti on Sunday, and we combined that trip with our trip to Helsinki to visit our grandparents.
2. We got to the hotel so late, that the kitchen was already closed. We had to do with whatever they happened to have in the bar.
