Tänään isä herätti meidät kahdeksalta. Menimme syömään aamiaista, ja sitten lähdettiin Helsinkiin. Yhdeltätoista lähdettiin kaikki Lahteen¹. Kolmelta lähdettiin takaisiin Helsinkiin. Piukku lauloi lapsikuorossa Lahdessa. Isä ja äiti toivat meidät Hesaan, ja lähtivät kotiin. Sitä ennen katsottiin Uuno Turhapuro, presidentin vävy -filmi. Illalla katsottiin Ross Poldark, ja toiselta puolelta² vilkaistiin Intiaaninaista. Sitten mentiin nukkumaan n. klo 23:15.

June 7th, 1981
Sunday

Today dad woke us up at 8am. We went to have breakfast, and then drove to Helsinki. At 11am we all went to Lahti¹. At three o'clock we started our trip back to Helsinki. Piukku sang at the children's choir performance in Lahti. Mum and dad brought us to Helsinki, and then drove back home. Before that we watched the Hardware Dealer Numbskull Emptybrook, the President's Son-in-Law movie. In the evening we watched Poldark, and on the other channel² we got a glimpse of The Legend of Walks Far Woman. Then we went to bed at around 11:15pm.

Maanantai

Tänään mentiin Papan kanssa kaupunkiin ostamaan paahtokylkeä, ja sitten mentiin Pikku-mummolle¹. Siellä juotiin Coca-Colaa, syötiin paahtokylkeä ja pullaa, ja ostettiin Kingikset. Kotimatkalla käytiin kaupassa, ja minä katselin puutarhatraktoria. Se maksoi 9.900 mk. Mummulla ajettiin nurmikkoa, ja illalla katottiin Pimeät portaat -filmi.

Monday

Today Grandpa and me went to the city to buy some roasted beef, and then we went to see Small-granny¹. There we drank Coca-Cola, ate roasted beef and buns, and bought King size ice creams. On the way back we went to a store to buy some groceries, and I was looking at a garden tractor. It cost 9,900 marks. Back at the grandma's place we mowed some lawn, and in the evening we watched a film called The Dark at the Top of the Stairs.

1. Otimme isoäidin ja isoisän mukaan Helsingistä Lahteen katsomaan Pia-Marian kuoroesitystä.
2. Siihen aikaan ei televisiossa ollut kuin kaksi kanavaa, TV 1 ja TV 2.

1. We picked up our grandmother and grandfather from Helsinki, to see the children's choir performance in Lahti where Pia-Maria sang.
2. At that time there were only two TV channels, TV 1 and TV 2.

1. Isoäidin äitiä (isomummua) sanottiin Pikku-mummoksi, osittain sanaleikkinä ja osittain, koska hän oli melko pienikokoinen.
